I'll go for twice tonight.
When I have the time and patience, I really enjoy hand washing Grandma's Franciscan Ivy pattern china.
I know she took great pride in her dishes. When I actually pull out the serving pieces to use for dinner (in addition to our plates), I always smile.
Tonight after dinner Tom went back to studying. Instead of attacking the mess, I took some time to sit, sip my drink, write a little bit. Then, only when I was ready, I cleaned the kitchen. It was such a simple thing, but I actually enjoyed the process. As I washed our knives and the Franciscan by hand, I took the time to manually scrub all the while appreciating the dishes and missing my Grandma.
It's been a good night.
